Greetings from hospital

Loyal readers I am posting from hospital tonight. My current ailment began on Wednesday night with bad stomach pain near the ribs. The pain was not too bad and tended to come and go every few hours. I thought I might have a mild case of food poisoning. Thursday was not too bad although I was a bit tired. Thursday night was a different story. The pain progressively worsened. At about 5am I was in a LOT of pain. It got to the point where I decided I had to go to hospital. At the hospital I was admitted to the emergency department and received some strong IV pain killers. They took my blood etc and discovered that my liver had become rather inflamed since my blood test on Tuesday. It was not GVHD as this does not happen that quickly. Gall stones were ruled out via an ultra sound. As of Friday night the cause has not been determined. We are waiting until Monday to see how the liver behaves over the next few days. If there is no change they may perform a liver biopsy on monday. I do have a bit of jaundice because of the liver trouble too.

One final point about my health – I have a lovely cold.

Oh yeah, the blood results from Tuesday were so good that they were going to drop my cyclosporine drug dose a bit.

Oh shit it! So disappointing to hear this Phil.
Here’s hoping that it starts to behave over the weekend and you’re feeling better soon.
Tell me what’s the yummiest thing on the hospital gourmet menu today?!

A bit late on the reply – I have been out for a week now. This has not diminished my memory of the food.

Shit as usual. I swear there is nothing edible on the menu. OK, the sandwiches are OK but I cannot eat anything else. If I am ever in hospital again it will be tinned tuna sandwiches and baked beans for me.
