Brief update

Had my regular doctor visit on wednesday. Liver is slowly getting better but is still not back to the point where we can lower the steroid dose. Maybe in a fortnight it might be in a good enough condition to change the steroid dose.

Off to the hospital friday morning for some IV fluid and magnesium. The IV fluid is for the kidneys.

Another gadget

I bought one of these for my iMac.  Not too bad.  Complete waste of money of course when I have a perfectly usable mouse.

Happy birthday to me

Over one year since my stem cell transplant and leaving hospital – a double anniversary if you like. My transplant was on the 14th of July. I left hospital on the 14th of August.

I notice on a previous blog entry around that time that I optimistically thought I would be back at work before christmas – it took until March before I was back at work part-time.

Out of hospital

Well, I got out of hospital on Monday last week. It would appear that it was probably gall stones but who knows. A few days after leaving hospital and my colour is back to normal – no more yellow eyes and skin. I did have elevated creatinine levels probably due to all the problems with the ‘gall stones’. I had to pop into hospital on the wednesday to get a couple of litres of IV fluid.

It is now a one week after leaving hospital and I feel quite OK now. I had a blood test on monday and no calls from the hospital so the kidneys appear to be OK.
